We love visiting Disneyland during the holiday season. With our kiddo’s school schedule in full swing, we eagerly awaited the break from sports season to head out to Disneyland. The holiday season transforms Disneyland into a wonderland of festive cheer and magical experiences. There are so many vibrant decorations, seasonal attractions, and unique events that make a visit to Disneyland during the holidays truly unforgettable and worth exploring.
What to Expect at Disneyland During the Holidays
Disneyland is renowned for its magical atmosphere, and the holiday season elevates this experience to new heights. Here’s what you can expect when visiting Disneyland during this festive time of year:
Spectacular Decorations
From the moment you step into Disneyland, you’re greeted with stunning holiday decorations. Main Street, U.S.A. is adorned with twinkling lights, garlands, and an enormous Christmas tree that sets the stage for the festive celebrations. Make sure to stop by and grab a family picture for a memory! Each land within the park has its unique holiday flair, ensuring you are immersed in the spirit of the season wherever you go.
Seasonal Attractions
Many of Disneyland’s attractions receive a holiday makeover. “it’s a small world” Holiday transforms the classic ride into a global celebration of holiday traditions, complete with festive music and dazzling lights. Be prepared for a line that may run up to an hour/ Meanwhile, Haunted Mansion Holiday combines the charm of Halloween and Christmas, inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Again, the lines may be a minimum of an hour, but it is just so worth seeing.
Festive Parades and Shows
Depending on how much time you (and energy) you have left at the park, carve in some time to find a seat somewhere to enjoy the holiday parades.
Holiday Cuisine
No visit to Disneyland during the holidays is complete without indulging in seasonal treats. From peppermint churros to holiday-themed sweets and savory delights, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Be sure to try the limited-edition holiday foods available throughout the park. We usually like to take turns buying treats through the day and share so we get to try different holiday treats without overindulging in too many sweets.
Unique Holiday Merchandise
Disneyland offers exclusive holiday merchandise, perfect for bringing a piece of the magic home or finding the perfect gift for loved ones. From festive apparel to ornaments and collectibles, there are plenty of options to commemorate your holiday visit.
Visiting in November & December
Visiting Disneyland during the holidays is a magical experience filled with joy, wonder, and unforgettable memories. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disneyland fan, the holiday season offers something special for everyone. Visiting in November will begin introducing you to so much of the holiday decor, treats and special attractions so don’t think that you’re limited to only visiting in the month of December to take in all the holiday cheer.
