Being a full-time working ( new) mom always presents a unique set of challenges. As most of you know, my quest here is to make my life as simple (yet luxurious) with nothing short of intentional purchases. Mila has had her fair share of toys , but today I want to share with you a brand that I’ve found to be so reliable for more than just toys.
Things to consider before making a purchase.
I always like to identify the needs for a baby item before I head out an make a purchase. I do this so I don’t waste my time looking aimlessly for things I won’t need. The purchase needs to fit my exact need. Often these are the things that I look for in a product:
- Comfort
- Purpose
- Educational Benefit
- Ease of cleanliness
- Aesthetically pleasing
I know this list seems quite unique, but I think it falls in place with what moms looks for in products.
What did I deem necessary for baby’s first year?
Mila’s daily routine consists of exercise activity, sensory building and some type of educational activity. I know that may seem like a lot for a newborn -12 month old but it’s what has helped me ease the baby into her routine. I want her to be active, develop all her senses and help her learn along the way.
Carrier
I’m still not to sure as to who enjoys this more. Me or Mila? It allows me to go out for walks with her and she gets to enjoy these walks while getting a lovely view of the neighborhood. It’s easy to use and clean and super safe.
Sea Charm Turtle
Mila loved this toy rattle. The colored rattles really helped her use it as a learning toy to show her the difference in colors and sound too. Each little rattle makes a different noise. They key link attachment made it super simple to add to her car seat or later her infant activity bouncer.
Flip Phone
Mila loves anything with buttons. At around 6 months she began expressing interest in paying attention to my phone conversations and particularly my phone. I still have a landline so when I would dial out in front of her she was fascinated by our cordless phone’s features. At almost 10 months, we still play with her flip phone and now she has fun engaging in a game where we pretend call grandma and her cousins. She loves it. Now that she has her first little purse, she loves to place her flip phone in there as well. This phone has voice commands in both English and Spanish which is a total plus for us!
Sensory Ball Set
We purchased this set for Mila at around 6 months. We wanted to work on her sensory skills and this set comes in different colors and textures. At almost 10 months, she is still enjoying them and we now have a game we play called “Buckets” where she drops each ball in a box after being instructed to do so.
One of the things that I love about Infantino products is that they are easy to clean and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Some of these toys have been used from 3 months all the way to now (almost 10 months). I’ve already donated some of her other toys that she lost her interest in.
If you’re a new momma, I hope this post helps you gain some insight as to what’s worth spending your household’s hard earned cash on.
